Melody Clark

  • Class

  • Honors
    Women's Basketball (1979-1981)

Melody Clark, a junior transfer from the College of San Mateo, is  quick and strong on the inside and was All-Conference the past two years. She and Cottier may find themselves on the court at at the same time especially against taller teams. Her board strength will take some of the pressure off of Sue Cottier and Sue Enos.

The season for the Women's Basketball learn may be over, but to many, it will never be forgotten. This has been the season of five seniors: Melody Clark. Mathaline Otis, Lisa Maurino, Jeannie Ray, and All-American Mary Hile. This has been the season of shattering of the school scoring record. But, this also has been the year of first year Coach Jan Ternyik. "This has been a good year for us," Ternyik candidly admits. "The goal of any coach or any team is to reach the 20 win plateau, and we did that with a final record of 22-8. And, considering the loss of Mathaline at the start of the conference play, shows the team really put out and came through." Bearing this out is the fact that six of their eight losses have come during conference play. This is not to take away anything from the team. Ray did an outstanding job stepping into the starting role, as did the others in helping out on the boards and defensively, Otis' specialty (TheFoghorn).
