Lou Zuardo graduated from USF in 1964, after playing three seasons with the Dons. He was a member of the Block Club. After USF, he was the Varsity Coach at El Camino High in South San Francisco. El Camino was hugely successful during Coach Zuardo’s tenure. The Colts won multiple Central Coast Section championships on his watch, and had a handful of players reach the big leagues.

Lou Zuardo opened the inning with a walk and went to second on a single by catcher Bill Courtney. Mike O'Leary then collected his second hit of the day which loaded the bases. Reliable Don Pacenkoph followed and promptly put the Dons ahead to stay with a long triple that scored all three runners.

Leading off the eighth inning, Don left-fielder Leo Vusich delivered a long triple into the right field corner. Lou Zuardo then singled, scoring Vusich with what proved to be the winning run. USF added an insurance run in the ninth as the Hilltoppers notched their first victory of the season (TheFoghorn).
