Rounding out the youthful Don coaching staff is 22 year old Mike Wolfgram, a 1971 graduate of USF. A top defensive back the past two years at the Hilltop school, he will be coaching his successors this season. At Napa JC, he was honored with the 1968 Golden Valley Conference Most Valuable Player Award. A rugged defensive back at USF, Wolfgram was a key ball hawk and hard nosed tackier. He was awarded the Nor-Cal Small College Player-of-the-Week for his performance against Chico State last year. He is currently working for a teaching credential (USFAthletics).

Catching is wide open as six hopefuls battle for the starting nod. The inside road now seems to favor footballer Mike Wolfgram. Following basketball season, Terry Senn will have a starting job, wherever he is most needed. Senn, as a freshman last season was the third leading hitter in the WCAC with a .429 average. Like last year's 23-25 squad, the horsehiders are going to have to depend on good fielding and pitching, and playing for one run, as they do not appear to be able to score a lot of runs (TheFoghorn).
