Born August 13, 1935 in San Jose, CA, Ronald Adolph Cecchi threw and batted right. At 5' 5", 147 lbs., he played for Junipero Serra High School and then for the Dons.
The next day the Green and Gold lost a closely-played contest to Alameda NAS, 2-1, on the Hilltop diamond. Although the Dons outhit the Alameda team 8-4, USF was unable to put their hits back to back after the third Inning. USF almost tied the game in the final frame, but the Hilltop runner was thrown out at home on a close play. The feature of the game was the sparkling pitching displayed by Ron Cecchi in striking out nine. The two Alameda runs were unearned, and came in the first inning (TheFoghorn).
