Ralph Stoppel graduated in 1941 in Accounting. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Phi, Tau Delta Beta, the Philhistorians, the College Players, the Foghorn staff, the Stage Crew, the Thomists, Arch and Arc. He was a Second Lieutenant in the Coast Artilery Reserve.Â
A native of San Francisco, he attended St. James High School and was an alumnus of the University of San Francisco class of 1941. After graduation, he served in World War II and retired from the Army as a Lt. Col. He worked as a Certified Public Accountant in the Bay Area for over 40 years. He was a longtime active member and officer of the United States Power Squadron, volunteering many hours teaching safe boating and technical navigation courses (SFExaminer).
