The USF junior varsity soccer team will play the Cal Cubs tomorrow morning at 9 a.m., in the preliminary to the varsity contest. The Donlets have broken even in the won-lost column so far this season, losing their initial outing to SF State, 1-0, and beating the Stanford Braves the following week by the same score. The young Dons lost a heart-breaker to the State junior varsity October 11. The Gators' outside right, Dan Schell, booted home a long corner shot late in the last quarter. The Donlets made a good showing, however, with Tom Klitgaard, Al Falconi, Ron Edgeman, Bill Herup, and Andy Conway all turning in a good game.
Veteran horsehiders who will rejoin the squad this year include outfielders Bob Castagnetto and Joe Arenivar; infielders Loren Scola and John Olcese; catchers Dan Moriarty and Dick Bechelli; pitchers Jack Gallagher and Andy Conway. Promising Rooks include outfielders Les Grimes and Dick Arnoldy; infielders Paul Torrente, George Zuka, Jerry Donovan, Len Heinz and Pete Nossardi; pitchers Dick Lawless, Ed Olmo, and Don Rebholtz. Starters on the Dem nine are still indefinite, but veterans Arenivar, Scola, Olcese, Moriarty, Bechelli, and Gallagher will see considerable action. Olcese has also displayed ability in the hurling department which will bring him from the hot corner to the mound when he is needed there (TheFoghorn).
