AT USF (2001) - Recorded four victories during junior season...enters the season tied for sixth on the USF career wins list with13... needs four wins as a senior to share second place on the all-time list... established career lows in ERA (4.17), earned runs(27), walks (31) and home runs allowed (1) last season in 58.1innings of work... ranked fourth on the team in ERA, and shared second place in victories... earned first win of the season at Sacramento State (2/14) pitching 5.0 innings, allowing just one runon one hit with four strikeouts... earned a relief win against CalPoly (2/17)... allowed three runs off seven hits to go along with three K's in win against Gonzaga (3/19)... recorded another relief win against Loyola Marymount (5/6)... did not surrender an extra base hit in last four appearances, spanning 9.1 innings.
AT USF (2000) - Turned in a solid sophomore campaign... saved the best for last with a masterful performance against Gonzaga(5/14/00), hurling his first career complete game shutout against the Bulldogs in the season finale... struck out a season-high seven against Gonzaga... punched out six in 4.1 innings of extended relief in a victory against San Diego (4/2/00)... collected a save against Pepperdine (4/16/00)... tied for third on the team with 50K's... also earned a decision against Cal State Hayward(2/5/00).
AT USF (1999) - Led the Dons with six victories, while posting a 6-4 mark in his first season on the Hilltop... led team with 84 strikeouts... first on the Dons in appearances (23), second innings pitched (78.0)... posted career-high 13 strikeouts against Gonzaga (4/19/99)... also punched out 11 batters against Utah (2/27/99).
PREP CAREER/OTHER BASEBALL EXPERIENCE - Posted a 12-1 record as a senior at Monte Vista High School... honors in senior season included East Bay Athletic League MVP, San Ramon Valley Times Player of the Year, All-California and USA Today Honorable Mention All-American... led the Danville Hoots team to the Legion World Series in the summer of1998... during summer of 2000 played for the Brewster Whitecaps in the Cape Cod League and helped them to the league championship.
PERSONAL - Peter Wingate Dunkle... goal for this season is to make it the most successful season for USF baseball... biggest sports thrill was winning a game in the 1998 American Legion World Series... hobbies include golf... the best things about being a student-athlete are being able to extend both my athletic career and my education... the best advice I could give to youngsters is to believe in yourself... son of Bill and Carol Dunkle... born August 7, 1980 in Alamo, CA.
