#27 - Richard Igou, was a native of Sherman Oaks, CA and attended Notre Dame High School. At 6' 4", 210 lbs., he played left-handed. 3.52 ERA. 87.0 IP. 70 K's. 4 CG. All-American for baseball in 1986.

Meanwhile, Coach Hill projects that freshman Rich Igou from Southern California's Notre Dame High School, is "gonna be a really good pitcher here for a few years. It's just a matter of when he's really gonna be dominant, because ! think he is, one day."

Rich Igou took over for the Dons from that point, allowing just one SMC run from that point, striking out 12 in his six innings of work to pick up his second win of the season by a final count of 7-4. Jeff Hrepich throw three no-hit innings in relief of Igou to pick up his first save of the season. McPatich, Sciutti and Fegan all added RBIs. and Bayne chipped in a pair of his own:

In the seven-inning darkness-shortened nightcap, another fourth-inning charge, this one ied by Bayne, brought the Dons back from a 2-1 deficit. In that fourth inning, Bayne pounded out an RBI double and scored from third on a passed ball to give USF the lead, and to hand Jeff Harris his first victory of the season, a 4-2 complete-game triumph. Harris struck out seven in his stint on the mound, and Clark added three of the Dons eight stolen bases.

"Our team really feels that when Chandler, Harris, and Igou are on the hill, we're gonna win the ballgame," said Hill, "A sweep of St. Mary's was nice - it's the first time since 1987, I think, that any USF baseball team has swept an opponent. And we won five in a row for the first time in a long time. So they're positive steps, but we did it with pitching, make no bones about it. Offensively, we're still trying to find ourselves, and defensively, some guys need to step forward a little bit more and take control of things (TheFoghorn)."
