SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA (February 3, 2006) -- The one month golf extravaganza that is also known as the San Francisco City Championship kicked off today at 8:00am at a fog-swept Lincoln Park Golf Course. The event of the day was a pre-qualifier for entry into the Championship Division.
"Balls were plugging, it was hard to see the ball on the first few holes, and in the end we spent about six hours out there, but it was all worth it," said Greg Wardle, a North Beach resident who easily made the field at 74. Jay Scheller made a 72 (AmateurGolf).
