The depth in the frontline is provided by sophomore Fidelius Atuebu, whose cannon shots leave goalies shaking in their Adidas, and freshmen Bjorn Tronstad and Jose "Dico" Fonesca. Both are first division players, Tronstad from Norway and Fonseca from Brazil. "I like Tronstad and the way he plays," says Negoesco. "He's a very direct player and moves the ball well." Fonseca played with Magalhaes on the same team in Brazil and they know each other well. "Dico helps me a lot" explains Felipe. "We played on the same team so we play the same kind of ball. We work well together." "They do work well together," agreed Negoesco, "but I have to break them up so that they get used to the other players as well. I can't have them so used to each other that if one of them gets hurt, I lose two players."
The powerful Dons sure proved that against St. Mary's by whipping the Gaels by an amazing score of 23-0. Jose "Dico" Fonseca led the Dons with five goals while Dag Olavsen added four. Olavsen, USFs leading scorer last year, is back at full speed after recovering from off season knee surgery. The only person missing from the Dons starting lineup is Godwyn Odiye, who is involved in administrative difficulties stemming from Nigeria. These problems will take a while to clear up so Steve Negoesco is keeping Odiye out of the lineup until they are (TheFoghorn).
