While Alaska may be the Union's last state, it has yielded a USF first lady, Accounting major Ruth Brodie, who will deliver the valedictory address later this month in St. Ignatius Church. "It seemed like she spoke from the heart," said Dave Wall, Chairman of the nine member Valedictorian Selection Committee when explaining the final decision. "She was able to reflect the spirit and verve of the class of 1987 with style."

Ruth Brodie (#3) will be specializing in back row digging, joined by Lynn Felando on the volleyball team (TheFoghorn).
