The most impressive offensive output on the year came at the hands of the University of Pacific, when USF erupted for a school record five goals, including first time goals by freshmen Maggie Buckland and Felicia Brown. The 2-1 win upset win over Cal on October 21 was highly satisfying for the Dons, beating a larger, well known soccer program.

The Dons came back fighting in the second half. Forward Maggie Buckland was fouled in the box, setting up a penalty shot for leading scorer Shellie Silva. Silva unleashed a hard shot towards the lower left corner but lucky USD goalie Alison Worden managed to guess the direction of the shot and deflect it.

USF will also lose four other players as a result of NCAA regulations. The women's soccer guidelines stipulate that players are only allowed to participate in 20 games per season. Thus, defender Jenny Clabaugh, mid fielders Felicia Brown and Elise Tsugawa, and forward Maggie Buckland are all now ineligible for the rest of the year, they played in several JV contests (TheFoghorn).
