Teams in the tournament come from Northern California and from as far East as Mississippi. Sgt. Newby estimates that from 35 to 40 teams will participate in the tournament. Members of the rifle team who made the trip are: Alan Ghiradelli, John Krebser, Al Pegueros, Rick Tan, and Charles Ross. The rifle team last week gave a party to retiring rifle team coach, Sergeant Henry Tadday. Sgt. Tadday will re tire from the Army on March 15, after thirty years of service. The party was given in recognition of his service and encouragement to the team throughout these many years Some of the gifts the teams gave him were: a portable ice box, a deep sea spinning reel, and an electric knife grinder for this sportsman. In recognition of the fine job he did for the team he received a trophy from the members of the club (TheFoghorn).
Ghiradelli graduated in Economics in 1957. He was a member of the Pershing Rifles.
