Career Highlights: Four-year letter winner for Men's Basketball

Biography: Korte was a four-year letter winner at USF from 1950-1954 on the men's basketball team. He played under legendary coach Phil Woolpert, and during his senior season the Dons finished in second place in the California Basketball Association with an overall record of 14-7. That set the stage for the team that finished 57-1 over the next two seasons, winning two national championships.

Why Korte Chose USF: "USF had a great academic reputation, and San Francisco is a beautiful city. I accepted the USF scholarship over other offers I received at the time."

Favorite USF Memories: "I had some great teammates. I was recruited in the same class with Frank Evangelho, Rick Mohr and Carl Lawson and we had a great time during my four years at USF. All of my memories include being around my teammates because we did everything together."

The USF Student-Athlete Experience: "I had some great teachers and fellow students on the Hilltop."

Life After USF: After graduating from USF in 1955, Korte entered the life insurance business with New York Life, and also worked in commercial real estate, and relocated to Plano, Texas.
