Foothill College women's basketball standout Krista Knapp recently accepted an athletic scholarship to play for the University of San Francisco next Fall.

Knapp, who came down from Canada to play two years with the Owls, received more than a dozen scholarship offers. She narrowed her choices to USF and the University of San Diego before settling on the former.

While at Foothill, the 6-foot sophomore was voted the 1996-1997 Coast Conference MVP and followed that up with First-Team Honors this past season. She finished her community college career scoring an even 1,000 points.

Her value went up in March at the women's State All-Star game in Los Angeles, where she scored 12 and pulled down eight rebounds (LosAltosTownCrier).

In 2003, Knapp had joined the Golden State team in the San Francisco Pro City Soccer League.
