Both pitchers pitched extremely well, but a two -un eighth enabled the Bulldogs to pull away with a 4-1 victory. The Dons got their only run on singles by Joe Torrise, Tony Scoma, and Mark Johnson. They were down 2-1 going into the decisive eighth as the NCBA's leading hitter. Brad Bennett lead off the inning with a single. He was moved to second on a sacrifice, and then David Holy drew a walk. Then the USF defense let up and a pair of errors by first baseman Joe Torrise and catcher Mark Johnson enabled the runners to score (TheFoghorn).
