A native of Pennsylvania, Walt Roland was named to Who's Who in College Students. He was a member of the Games Committee, Delta Sigma Pi, Marketing Club, Sanctuary Society and played Intramural Football and Varsity. He graduated in Accounting in 1954.

The men voted for the "dream team" selections were Coach Hal Sachs of the Vigilantes, Dick Huxley, Ignatians, Walt Roland, Loyolans, Joe Scudero, Berchmans, Lt. Col. Anderson, Football Commissioner and Harvey Christensen, Intramural Director. Each coach on the selection committee chose an all-opponent squad (TheFoghorn).
