A native of New Orleans, "Fort" is at 6-10, 210 lbs. and was considered the starting center on the best Freshman team in the school's history. He saw limited action last year but showed considerable promise. Fortenberry gained the experience he needed last year and should be a valuable asset as a scorer and rebounder when called upon. Fortenberry is the most improved player from last year's team and now possesses a fine hook shot in addition to an accurate jumper from close range. He played his high school ball at Walter L. Cohen, and was coached by Harold Millon. He won the Green and Gold Loyalty Award in 1966 for the best student athlete. He graduated with a Bachelors in Industrial Relations.Â
