The number of USF soccer players were named to 1997 All-West Coast Conference teams. Senior Amy Yamamoto earned First-Team honors for the Dons, and her teammate, freshman defender Melissa Lentz, was a Second- Team selection. The Dons also placed four others on the Honorable Mention list, senior forwards Heather Wright and Jennifer Moreci, junior forward Kishandee Green and junior goalkeeper Amy Voiland.
Soccer Seniors Want Last Shot at WCC Crown: "We have to build up from the back and keep using Amy [Yamamoto] to help switch the field." Another part of the formula is the strong play of the underclassmen. "The new players add a lot of depth," said Yamamoto. "Anyone off the bench can come in," said Wright, "which is kind of a new thing." The Hilltoppers will try to stay perfect in the conference with a more motivation to beat teams like Portland and Santa Clara because they've already beat San Diego and Pepperdine (TheFoghorn).
