Hardest working members of any athletic team but most often ignored are the athletic managers. To these men comes all the grief and none of the glory of the sports parade. It is they who must dole out and account for equipment, attend to every detail. When things are working smoothly they are forgotten when praise is distributed, when something goes wrong they come in for all the blame.

A thankless job and a responsible one is theirs. First to come to practice and last to leave, they experience neither the thrill of participation nor the passive joy of a spectator. Without these men the should could not go on. They operate behind the scenes, unknown by most and little cared for by all. What fun they get from their jobs only they know, but at least we should be thankful for Jim Duane, Tom Scally, Con O'Brien, Bob Barbieri, Tom Tasso, Alan White, Bill Britt and Ray Agosti and sometimes when celebrating a victory accord them a little of the merit they so justly deserve (TheDon).
