Oliver Keller played soccer for the Dons from 1987 to 1991 on an athletic scholarship for four years, and graduated with a Bachelor's in Hospitality in 1992. He earned a Master's in Entrepreneurship at MIT in 2014. He currently works as CEO and Founder of the Missing Link, in Scottsdale, AZ.
Midfielder Robert Aparicio and Kreichbaumer, visibly fired up for the opener, continually reminded the emotional Dons to play as if the game was still knotted, resulting in two confidence-building insurance goals. Newcomer Ola Tuntland, brought to USF for his goal scoring capabilities, beat the Cossack goalkeeper with a well-placed volley to make the score 2-0. Sophomore forward John Mora then added another goal off a broken play to close the scoring. "Last year, we would get a lead and sit back on it," said defender Oliver Keller, who assisted on the final two scores. "This year we wanted to keep attacking; keep the pressure on."
Scoring goals, of course, is easier said than done. However, for the Dons at least, stopping goals is as easy as 1,2,3. Kreichbaumer, a versatile and very vocal defender, has a great nose for the ball and is dangerous with it out front. Junior Kris Vipavetz, who also struggled with injuries last season, is finally healthy. He is a legitimate talent in the backfield and his agressiveness should rub off on the newcomers. Senior Oliver Keller, who was named Most Valuable Player in the Baltimore tournament last season, returns with his rugged style of play (TheFoghorn).
