The game was close at first as the teams warmed up. Cal Poly took an initial 2-0 lead, but USF stayed with them, eventually tying the game at five. Led by Tina Ghazarians, who served for five points, including the game winner, helped her own cause by diving to save a blocked spike. They soon took a 9-5 lead and never looked back.
Margaret Hillhouse's spike, which dropped at mid-court, ended the game. Jenny Shrack took a lesson from Tina Ghazarians, diving for a dig that crossed the net unaided. It didn't win the second game, but it sure helped set the mood for the rest of the match (TheFoghorn).
