A native of Tacoma, WA, Dick Jensen attended Bellarmine High School. He played Center for the Dons basketball team from 1949 to 1953.
An enthusiastic group of Frosh hoopsters have arrived on the Hilltop to bolster the hopes of the Don varsity in the years to come. In recognition of his talents in prep circles practically every man holds the distinction of being an "all something." Bellarmine High of Tacoma has delivered two skyscrapers in the persons of Dick Jensen, 6-5, and Don Hermsen, 6-4.
Frosh Coach Phil Wolpert is mighty pleased with this year's star-studded turnout. At forwards are Keith Walker, 6' 2", from Healdsburg; Don Hermsen, 6'5", from Ta- coma; Dick de Lorimier, 6' 1", from Pacific Grove; Bob Fraser, 5'11" from Alameda; Ron Moresco, from San Francisco, and Tom Lampe, 6' 1". At center are Ted Richter, 6' 3", from New York; Jim Garrison, 6' 5", and Dick Jensen, 6' 6", from Tacoma. Guards Jack Cannon, 6'; Phil Viekicereich, 6'1"; Jim Olsen, 6' 1"; Jim O'Brien, 6' 1", and Joe Chulla, 5' 4", from San Francisco (TheFoghorn).
