Frank Vaiarello was born and raised in Fresno to Nellie and Joe Vaiarello. At 14 years old, he joined and volunteered at Fresno YMCA. His love for that organization spawned a championship handball career, and many cherished friendships. He spent summers working in Yosemite at the Ahwahnee where he hiked and climbed the many monoliths of the valley. His love for Yosemite remained with him throughout his life.

He established himself as an outstanding athlete in football, baseball, and track. As a halfback, he gained notoriety that led to his playing at the University of San Francisco and at Cal State, Fresno.

Vaiarewllo's business career spanned 40 years in the Financial Services arena. He was known as an excellent Operations Executive that brought many bank branches into profitability. He retired from Mid-State Bank in 1990. He received his 50-year Elk pin (BPOE) in 2004. He was also a Rotary member while at Mid-State Bank (BakersfieldCalifornian).

Gene Sweeters will hand the ball off to the likes of Roy Barni, George Carley, Vince Sakowski, Frank Vaiarello, and Ken White. Supplying the backfield power for Brown's men will be Bill Calhoon, Dick Colombini, and Jim Whitney. In the fullback slot for the vets will be Ollie Matson, and Roy Giorgi. Last year's varsity flank men must look skyward at the giant Bob St. Clair, 6-7, and Tony Matich, 6-3 (TheFoghorn).
