Frank Vaiarello was born and raised in Fresno to Nellie and Joe Vaiarello. He established himself as an outstanding athlete in football, baseball, and track. As a halfback, he gained notoriety that led to his playing at the University of San Francisco and at Cal State, Fresno.

Vaiarello spent summers working in Yosemite at the Ahwahnee where he hiked and climbed the many monoliths of the valley. His love for Yosemite remained with him throughout his life. At 14 years old, he joined and volunteered at Fresno YMCA. His love for that organization spawned a championship handball career, and many cherished friendships.

Vaiarewllo's business career spanned 40 years in the Financial Services arena. He was known as an excellent Operations Executive that brought many bank branches into profitability. He retired from Mid-State Bank in 1990. He received his 50-year Elk pin (BPOE) in 2004. He was also a Rotary member while at Mid-State Bank.
