Jeff Randell attended Castlemont High School in Oakland, CA and played basketball for them and for the Dons from 1973 to 1977. He was named 3rd team All-American Boys Basketball Team by Parade Magazine in 1973 his senior year in high school. He won the Green and Gold Loyalty Award in 1976 at USF.
USF Jeff Randell, 6' 7" senior forward, was named Team captain of the 1976-1977 USF Don's basketball team in an announcement coming from Head Coach Bob Gaillard. "A lot of the younger players on the team will look to Jeff for the leadership this season, and I know he will be able to handle it," Gaillard commented. Randell, a defensive standout, averaged five points a game for the Dons, but possesses a fine shooting touch illustrated in his 54.8% field goal percentage. Last season Jefi scored a career high of 21 points coming off the bench against UC Davis. The Dons will count on the big forward to provide the board strength of the Don's front line. Randell who owns the best outlet pass on the squad will definitely aid USF's faster tempo of play this year (TheFoghorn).
