The primary offensive backup in the infield could be Charles Sciutti. The sophomore provides one more lefthanded bat in the lineup, and may see action at designated hitter following a surprising freshman season that saw him start 18 games and bat at 2.313 clip. Junior Mark Frizzi, back at USF after to years at Sacramento City College, may also see time in the infield, along with Steve Berringer (College of Marin), Troy Nakamura (lolani HS), and returnees Phil Frankls and Taichi Takanabe (Japan) (TheFoghorn).
