Maureen McLaughlin played soccer from 1986 to 1988 with the Dons.
Visser adds that along with Schneider, several other players had very good games. Marni Selway, a freshman from Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton, had a good game, as did freshman Laurie Sargent who also attended Amador Valley. Visser adds that Maureen McLaughlin played strong defense, and that it really helps having her experience on the field. McLaughlin, who is the only senior on the team, says she thinks the new players are making a big contribution. "I think our freshmen class is great. The improvement over the last few years is immense," she says. "We have improved a great deal. I think the difference is attitude," she says.
Another veteran player that the Dons will look to for leadership is last years' team captain Maureen McLaughlin. "She (McLaughlin) has a lot of experience," Visser says. "She was the first to be with the program since its inception, she will provide a lot of stability in the midfield (TheFoghorn)."
