Patrick Bumpus played one season of baseball. He studied Psychology at the University of San Francisco and San Jose State where he also minored in Music and holds a graduate certificate in venture capital from TechStars.  He oversees marketing operations, investor relations, and is Co-Director of innovation programs at Impact Venture Capital.

In game one, SMC starter Greg Press (3-2) pitched five innings allowing just one earned run. Pat Bumpus slated the Don's lone RBI in the fifth, scoring Taylor. Don Tyson came on for the Gaels for his third straight save.

Friday the 26th could have been re-named Pat Bumpus Day if had not been for Santa Clara's thorough dismantling of the Dons. The senior designated hitter from Cañada JC churned out a career day, reaching safely on all 5 of his plate appearances. On the day, Bumpus the 5-8 lefty went 3-3 with a solo home run and 3 RBI (he also walked and was hit by a pitch). His first career dinger gave USF a 2-1 lead in the fifth (TheFoghorn).
