All of the Lucey's attended private, catholic schools. The boys attended Saint Ignatius High School, and the girls attended Star of the Sea. When it closed down, the girls attended Presentation High School, now part of USF. "I don't have any classes at Presentation this semester," explained Kathleen, "I'm glad I don't, it would be like going back to high school." After high school came college. That college was USF for all nine of the Lucey children.
The Lucey's at USF: Nine Luceys have graduated from USF over the past ten years.
Abbie Lucey: Graduated in 1982 with a Psychology Degree. Abbie is currently a teacher. Abbie and her husband Steve Wishart have a one year old daughter, Allison.
Julia Lucey: Graduated in 1983. She also majored in Psychology and is employed as a teacher for the San Francisco Unified School District.
Mary Kate Lucey: Graduated in 1984. Mary Kate was a Nursing major. Although currently working as a nurse, she is considering Law school. Mary Kate is married to Barry Sullivan, they are expecting their first child at the end of the year.
Con Lucey: Graduated in 1986 with a Business Degree. Con is married and working as a San Francisco fire fighter. Jimmy Lucey: Graduated in 1987. Jimmy earned a Business Degree and will be graduating from USF School of Law in May.
Willie Lucey: Graduated in 1988. Willie was a Broadcast Communications major. He is working on his teaching credential.
Nellie Lucey: Graduated in 1991. Nellie was an Exercise Physiology major. In the near future, she plans to go to graduate school.
Margaret Lucey: Also graduated in 1991. Margaret was a Communication Arts major, and four year member of the Dons soccer team. She works for MCI.
Kathleen Lucey: Graduating in 1992 with a degree in Accounting. Like Margaret, Kathleen also played soccer for the Dons. She is a sister in the sorority Delta Zeta, and a member in the National Honorary Accounting fraternity Beta Alpha Psi (Wednesday, April 1, 1992 San Francisco Foghorn).
