Just when the book was being closed on Gerald "Pops" Zimmerman's heroic basketball career at USF another page is turned and another accomplishment achieved.

Zimmerman was named to the 1999 College All-Star Roster and will participate in the World Series of Basketball, which takes place April 25 at 4:00pm, featuring the Harlem Globetrotters against the College All-Stars. This will be the first of a series of games in three markets across the US in which the best players in the nation will be teamed with popular regional players in each market. Other sites include Detroit on May 1 and Cincinnati on May 2. Gerald commented "It was definitely an honor, I grew up watching these guys playing (Harlem Globetrotters) and now I am having the chance of a lifetime to play against them (USFFoghorn)."
