Biography: Schubert was a relief pitcher for the Diamond Dons. He played for the Junior Varsity team the two years he played at USF, and Coach Benedetti insisted that every player (JV or Varsity) would receive a USF letter. To this day, Schubert still has his letter sweater and his Don's letter jacket. Schubert's baseball career on the Hilltop was cut short by injury after his sophomore season.

Why Schubert Chose USF: “I really wanted to attend USF, but my family could not afford the full tuition. My dad agreed to help pay for one semester - so I came to California from New Mexico and took out a student loan. After I was admitted, I recall entering St. Ignatius Church and experiencing an overwhelming feeling of gratefulness. I was so thankful that I would be able to attend USF because I didn’t think that I would be able to, considering my family’s economic reality. Little did I know on the day I stepped foot on campus, that my connection with the university would go far beyond a single semester, and I would in time pay it forward as an alumnus of this great university."

Favorite USF Memories: "My involvement with the baseball team was a lot of fun. I wasn't very good, but I enjoyed my time on the Hilltop, and the camaraderie. Coach Benedetti had an arrangement to serve Panelli's deli sandwiches to the players at every game, and they were fantastic. I have lots of great memories of those times. My favorite memory was getting the win against Stanford at Stanford. I think that is the best game I ever threw in my life. I was fortunate that my sister attended that game.  ”

The USF Student-Athlete Experience: “Athletics was an education, but on a different level. While our USF education challenged the mind, athletics challenged our bodies. My experience at USF laid the foundation for what I continue to use to this day – in life and business, USF had the most profound impact on my life than any other institution by a wide margin."

Life After USF: Schubert is an experienced Senior ERxecutive with a demonstrated history of P&L success working within specialized insurance sales and services. Skilled in D2C, C-Suite Presentations, Medicaid, Medicare, Large Account Management, Managed Care, and overall Healthcare. He resides in El Dorado Hills, California with his wife Monique.
