John Cronin was a graduate of St. Ignatius High School and played quarterback for the Dons. He was forced to transfer out when the football program was canceled at the end 1951-1952 year.
Joe Scudero, the magnificent scooter for the Dons last fall, is taking a year's rest from football at the University of South Carolina. The rules of the Southeastern Conference require that transfer students must wait a year before they can participate in intercollegiate sports. Scudero writes "that the weather and the girls are gorgeous." At the University of Wichita, Larry Slajchert and John Cronin are aspirants for the grid squad. The former Dons are slated for heavy duty. Slajchert is from Pennsylvania, while Cronin played his prep ball at St. Ignatius High School (TheFoghorn).
