Alvin A. Attles III, nicknamed Al, is currently an author, director, producer, filmmaker, and writer. He has a number of credits on IMDB. He is also the Founder and a Board member of Attles Center For Excellence (ACE), a mentoring program for at-risk youth in Oakland.
He played basketball at San Diego State in 1983-1984 and at USF from 1986-1987. Earlier in his career, he played pro basketball overseas. He has been the Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach at Benicia High and coached the AAU team known as the Bay Area Elite. He also founded the Attles School of Basketball, a camp that ran in American Canyon.Â
He is the son of Alvin Attles, Jr., one of only five players in Warriors history to have his jersey retired (#16) and inductee into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in 1993 and former Head Coach of the Warriors (HaywardRotary).Â
