Windsor, CA—Windsor High School (WHS) is pleased to announce Bill Kurata as the new WHS varsity baseball Coach for the 2023-2024 season. Kurata is a former Division I college athlete, who has been an assistant in the WHS baseball program for the last few years.

“When you meet Bill, you just know he’s all in,” said WHS  Athletic Director Jamie Williams. “We are excited to have him join our athletic department and take the lead of our Jaguars on the field. We look forward to seeing what impact he will make on our youth and the varsity program. Our baseball community is in good hands.”

Kurata attended the University of San Francisco and earned a Bachelor’s degree in the first class to major in Sports Administration. He played baseball all four years of college, while gaining additional experience in Athletic Training. Prior to working with WHS, he was the coach at Head Royce High School, where he built the program from the beginning.

“My goal is to build a dominant program and to help develop passion for the student athlete in the classroom and on the field,” Kurata said. “I would like to thank Steven Summers and Jamie Williams for this opportunity to help continue to build on an established program started by Dave Avila. I definitely have some big shoes to fill, but I’m up for the challenge and excited to develop students’ success both on and off the field.”

“Bill is the kind of coach we love to bring on board,” said WHS vice principal Stephen Summers. “He’s got experience, he’s a presence in the local community, and he’s all about the whole person (WindsorAthletics).”
