The Diamond Dons connected the past to the present by welcoming back a large turnout of former players at the program's annual Alumni Weekend which was held this past Saturday and Sunday at new Benedetti Diamond.

The weekend began with a Blast From the Past game on Saturday, with former players from 1998 to 2013 making up the two squads. Highlights included a multi-hit games from Jason Mahood '13, Blake Nelson '07, John Norfolk '07 and Connor Bernatz '11. Strong pitching performances were turned in by Kyle Lawton '11 and Jason Dufloth '07.

The Classic Game was held on Sunday morning with players ranging from the classes of 1968 to 1989 on hand. Greg Weiser pitched a scoreless inning of relief for the Alums while Al Smoot '81, father of current Don Allen Smoot, had a pair of hits.

The weekend culminated with the Pro Game, with the current USF squad posting a 13-0 victory. Sam Granoff, Grant Goodman and Joey Carney combined to hold the Alums to just four singles on the day. Elliott Waterman '12, current director of baseball operations, pitched two scoreless innings and also picked off one runner. Christian Cecilio '14 also pitched two scoreless innings.
