Vincent Briare attended St. Ignatius High School where he became one of the region's top football players. He continued his football career at the University of San Francisco while earning a Degree in 1950. He was also an Assistant Coach his senior year and later worked as an Athletic Trainer for USF. He received a Master's degree at Santa Clara University in Counseling. He had a long career as a teacher, coach and counselor for 35 years for the Santa Clara Unified School District and lived in Los Gatos (MercuryNews).

Coached by Brad Lynn and his assistants, Vince Briate and Joe Mocha, the Don frosh football team of 49 was one of the finest seen on the coast. Outstanding were back. Joe Scudero, Elvin Colburn, Jim Whitney, Ken SeNulty. and Ed LeJeune. In the line they were all outstanding.Tackles Gene Barry and Gene De Martini, guards Anthony Conte and Don Moore, ends Bob St. Clair and Tony Matich and center Paul LaCava not to mention many others (TheDon).
