In the second game, soph Dennis Admunson also went the distance pulling the Dons to a 5-1 victory. Throwing a five hitter, the lanky soph allowed no walks while striking out five. John Cunningham, Bernie Wend, and Jim Barbeau were the big sticks in the game with "Horse" slamming 3 for four, and Wend and Barbeau garnering 2 for 4 and 2 for 3 respectively.
The Don hitting-attack was very strong. Seven of the nine players each collected two hits apiece, and Cunningham and Bernie Wend drove in three runs each. The victory was one of the best team efforts the Dons put forth this season. The great six-hit pitching of McCarthy was combined with a powerful 15-hit attack, and five of those fifteen hits were triples. Walt Chapman, Bernie Wend, and Al Kirkes each collected two hits apiece to contribute to the Don's wining effort (TheFoghorn).
