In the typically balanced Dons ten tournaments this year, four different golfers (McMullen, Elmore, Todd Fischer, and Rex Aberle) have all led the team in at least one contest. Rounding out the five-man squad is the team's youngest member, Steve Barry. McMullen and Elmore are the Dons returning All-Conference performers.
This is possibly the best team ever to hit the Hilltop and strong finishes are expected from junior David Kem, who is performing at his best ever this year coming in 16th at the Stanford Invitational, and Michael Bjursten, a sophomore nicknamed "Bam Bam" in high school, is hitting an impressive 73.56 stroke average. Completing the winning team will either be junior Steve Barry or senior Ted Anderson. Last year, USF finished third, only five points behind the winner, Stanford. The Dons feel confident of a great finish against many good programs. "The top finishers could improve their scores a little, but everyone has contributed," Fischer said (TheFoghorn).
