Coach Keith played for San Jose Central, Almaden Outlaws, MVLA Untouchables, and Almaden Blackhawks. He appeared in 5 state cup finals resulting i n 1 championship. He then went on to play for De Anza Junior College where his team went undefeated as the D3 Junior College National Champs. He attended the U20 US National Team Camp. He played for the University of San Francisco where he was 2 time All Conference, earned the Newcomer of the Year and Team MVP awards, and served as Team Captain senior year. He graduated with a degree in Sociology in 1998.
He was drafted #2 in the A-League Draft to the San Francisco Bay Seals. He played 2 seasons, leading the league in minutes played as a rookie, scoring 7 goals with 4 assists, and he trained half of the 2nd season with the San Jose Earthquakes and made an appearance on t he sub bench! Keith went on trial with Sachsen Leipzig of the German 3rd Division and Dallas Burn of MLS. He signed with Raleigh Capital Express of A League, where he appeared in 2 games before suffering an injury and retiring. He also played for the San Francisco Glens, Mezcala, and Chico Rooks (NPSL).
Coach Keith has completed all the grassroots coaching courses. He has coached 2 seasons for Almaden FC, 1 season coaching Impact SC, 2 seasons coaching Revolution recreational program, and 1 season coaching Revolution 2014G Blue. His coaching philosophy includes keeping sessions fun while teaching the fundamentals is the basis for everything. If the kids are not enjoying the game, then he feels he is not doing his job. He incorporates lots of agility type training into sessions because learning how to use your body is one of the most important skills needed to improve as a soccer player. The goal is to create a positive and enjoyable experience for the players while developing their skills and love for the game. Teaching sportsmanship, teamwork, and compassion is of the highest importance (SportsEngine).
