Thomas Pagee was a San Francisco native and graduated in Political Science in 1950. He played baseball for two seasons, and enlisted in the United States Navy.
Two southpaws, Tom Pagee and Tom Butler, should win starting berths with the team, and this three man combo should prove the most formidable on the Coast. Pagee was a standout in service baseball and the winter leagues after graduating from Sacred Heart School where he made All-City.
Eddie Garcia gave up three in the fourth on one hit, one in the fifth and three in the. sixth before being lifted for southpaw Tom Pagee who quelled the Gael barrage by dramatically striking out Lil Arnich, ending the fray to the disappointment of the roaring Gael spectators. For the first time during the season the Dons displayed real batting power, bashing out sixteen base blows, and fielding well although committing several errors at the wrong times. Ed Hanna with a triple and double; Lou Landini with three singles; and Paul Schramka with three bingles did the heavy damage.
The battery was manned by Tom Pagee on the mound and Frank Boland behind the dish. Pagee, former star mound's man at Sacred Heart High School, was a leading hurler in last year's city Industrial League (TheFoghorn).
