In the first round on Friday, five of six Dons advanced in the first round of the singles competition, but in round two, Josh Winston, Steve Mathews, Kalama Kim, John Brekhus, and Andre Walker all fell ending the singles season for thc Dons. In the first round of the doubles competition, the teams of Brekhus-Winston and Mathews-Walker made it all the way to the semi-finals in the consolation bracket before close losses.
The USF men's tennis team concluded its season in sixth place in the WCC Championships. Freshman Greg Teagarden, who was seeded 16th, lost in the second round as did freshman Bob Vosoughi, senior Josh Winston, and sophomore Bill Thomson. Sophomore David Hong and freshman Joey Sablan lost in the first round, and reached the third round and quarterfinals of the consolation bracket respectively (TheFoghorn).
