The second game was marred only by two errors in the fourth inning which led to Sonoma State's only runs. Marianne Curtis pitched superbly in the 5-2 victory. She gave up only three hits while striking out three. The defense played particularly well in the second game as they executed a masterful double-play. The ball was hit on the ground to Marianne Curtis who pivoted and threw to Lefferts at second.

Marty Kennedy's first year as Head Volleyball Coach has come to an end. The season has been a learning experience for both the players and the coach. "We're a very young team," said Kennedy, "It will take time until we can develop into a real power in the conference." There is a tendency to judge a team's success by its won-loss record alone. But there are other factors to take into account, such as the vast improvement the team has made over the course of the year. One of the most consistent all-round players has been Marianne Curtis. She rarely makes errors and is very solid in all aspects of the game (TheFoghorn).
