The next day, USF bounced back to defeat the Aggies at Davis off Rapposeili and John Tomasello's hitting and newcomer William Jones  came on for the win in his first Division I appearance.

The Dons exploded for five runs in the first inning fueled by Tomasello's two-run double that brought Rapposelli and Sylvestri home. French then singled, advancing Tomasello to third. Jones sent a hard shot to third that scored USF's third run, when the throw to home went into the dirt. Catcher Ed Fuentes then smacked a two-run double to complete the Don explosion.

Jones,a transfer from the College of Marin, relieved starter Travis Walters in the fifth after Davis had cut USF's lead to5-2 and had runners on second and third. Jones issued an intentional walk and then forced Marc Reed to hit into a double play (Rapposelli-to French-to Bob Freschi) to get USF out of the inning (USFFoghorn).
