Lawrence Anderson was a native of Phoenix, AZ and graduated in 1970 with a Degree in History. He played golf his freshman year and baseball all four years. He was a member of Scabbard and Blade, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Following graduation, he entered the United States Army Rangers.

Twenty-four senior ROTC cadets at USF have been appointed to the Distinguished Military Student list for the 1969-1970 school year, announced Colonel Vernon F. Gilbert. Professor of Military Science here. The Distinguished Military Student appointment is made on the basis of: rank in college classes, class rank in Military Science III, demonstrated leadership qualities, and a display of moral character. Consideration for this award is made on the basis of personal observance on the part of the Professor of Military Science and the student's academic records. The cadets receiving the DMS award at USF are: Larry Anderson, Doug Becker, James Bonato, Chris Calhoun, Dennis Carvalho, Robert Caviglia, Donald Dana, David Devoti, Steven Gillum, Conrad Hanson. Robert Jones, Ed Kurakazu, William Maffei, Joseph Moran, Robert Pedot, Richard Peterson, Edward Popek, Mike Readman, Tim Ruef, Michael Semansky, Tom Sims, Peter Sparks, James Wathen, Patrick Wick, and John Wier.

Baseball utility men that will see plenty of action include returnees Bill Hutson, Ed Kurakazu, Pete Barry, Bob Slattery, and Larry Anderson (TheFoghorn).
