Steve Berriatua leads the Dons with a .427 batting average alter the weekend's action. His on-base percentage is an even more impressive .535. With Joe Williams, Mike Oliva, and Rich Holm in slumps, Bowman started all three of his catchers (Rob Harris at first, Eric Enos at third, and Dan Barbara behind the plate) to get some pop into his offense against St. Mary's on Saturday. Enos and Harris did not hit but they were capable in the field.

St. Mary's won the opener of the short series at Benedetti Diamond on Saturday 7-5. Swan and Brian Hanoy homered for the Gaels as super hard luck pitcher Jim O'Shea saw his record drop to 0-4. Catcher Rob Harris homered in the loss. USF got back on the winning track Tuesday at Hayward State with a 10-5 win. Freshman standout Arnie Sambel, Eric Enos, and Steve Berriatua all homered in the win (TheFoghorn).
