This year, 1984-1985, the soccer Dons had a fine year. They finished undefeated in Pacific Soccer Conference play with impressive wins over CAL and Fresno State, to bring the title back to the hilltop where it belongs. The team then went on to the NCAA playoffs to upset nationally ranked UNLV, only to lose a heart breaker to UCLA in the western final. This also marked the 12th straight appearance of the Dons in the NCAA playoffs. Aside from the success of the team as a whole, USF had the honor of having five players represent us on the All Pacific Soccer Conference Team, with Thierry Blanson leading the way as MVP. Next year the team should be back as strong as ever, as Thierry Blanson is the only graduating senior (TheDon).
