Billy Reid was born September 10, 1957 in New York City, and attended DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx. He attended the College of New Mexico from 1976 to 1977 and then transferred to USF from 1978 to 1980 and graduated in 1981.  He was selected in the 1979 NBA draft by the Indiana Pacers and then again one year later in the 1980 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors in the 9th round, but did not begin his professional career until after graduation. At 6'5", 190 lbs, he played as a shooting guard, mainly abroad in Japan, Taiwan, Venezuela and France, until 2000 and then began a nine year coaching career at Long Island, University of San Francisco, Stony Brook, Laurenburg, N.C., and Southern Miss, and Brett Harte in Northern California (NYCBaseballProject).
