At Edwards Field, Jim Brennen was coasting along with a shut out until the fifth inning when, with one out, and two "Bears" on, big Jim Danielson, Cal pitcher stepped into Brennen's fast ball for a long home run to win his own game. The other Cal run was garnered in the fifth, off relief pitcher Pete Lommori. The Dons only markers came on a walk, and a double by Reno DeBenedetti; later "Spike" Pengle hit a single, driving in the other run. This Cal team is far above ordinary J.V. caliber, and the Dons were high for this game.

The second half was a repetition of what went on in the first period, when, in the last five minutes, the roof caved in on the Aggie team. Charlie Heredia scored first for the Dons to make the score 5-5, and then in succession, Baptista put two hard-kicked balls between the post for goals, giving the Dons a 7-5 lead which they held until the gun went off. With the two goals he scored in the closing minutes, and one he had made earlier in the second half, Baptista boosted his total to five, and the Davis fans could be heard asking themselves where this fellow came from. On defense, Reno DeBenedetti, Bob Lee, and John Chism proved to be the pests to the Cal team. The other players Pete Lommorri, Gomez, and Heridia gave Baptista a big helping hand. They sparkled in their passing and beautiful ball handling (TheFoghorn).
