Garlick made a run down the left sideline, and his cross into the penalty area was tipped in by a DePaul player for the first goal, six minutes before halftime. The second half saw Klevberg enter the game as a sub and provide an immediate spark, streaking down the left side with a sweet move on a Blue Demons defender. His cross found the head of touted JC transfer Jordi Esteban, who sent a dart off the crossbar. Marinescu found the loose ball off the rebound and netted it for a 2-0 lead. Senior Keith Ratzburg concluded the scoring off a long feed from Klevberg, outmuscling the lone DePaul defender back and scoring his third goal of the season. Despite the loss to Holy Cross, each of the four teams in the tournament— Santa Clara also split with Holy Cross and DePaul— finished the weekend with one win and one loss. The Dons were crowned champions by virtue of the goal differential in the two games.
Freshman forward Inge Klevberg opened the scoring at 38:25, his third goal of the tournament, and William & Mary answered in just over a minute. The second half saw the Dons take back the lead on an Alexsander Akerjordet goal and hold the 2-1 advantage for most of the second half with strong midfield play and solid defense (TheFoghorn).
