Going into the bottom of the seventh inning tied at 2-2, Dons third baseman Mary Beth Kelly started off with a triple. Following an out, catcher Elena Salcido dropped one between second and right field for a base hit, allowing Kelly to score for the winning run. In the second game, the Dons out hit the Broncos 5-3 and made only three errors behind the pitching of Susanne Walker for the win.
The cross country team participated in two meets the past two weekends at Sonoma State Invitational on Sept. 21, and the Aggie Invite at UC Davis on Sept. 28, showing that they have markedly improved as their season has progressed. At Sonoma, the women competed in a field of 12 teams, of whom two were running clubs, and featured 107 runners. The women placed 11th as Kari McCallum finished 51st with a time of 0:20:24, Heather Allen came in 78th, Cindy Donoghue came in 84th, and Elena Salcido placed 87th (TheFoghorn).
